Easter Weekend

Happy Easter everyone! We had so much fun this weekend. Friday Carter got an Easter Basket in the mail from the Patterson's and very much enjoyed the treats and also got some new cars which he did not want to put down.

Ian isn't rolling yet, but he is getting really close. In this video he is on a hill.

Then on Saturday we went on a picnic at the park. It was such a beautiful day to be outside. Ian had fun lounging on the blanket, rolling down the hill, and hanging out with Grammy and Papa. We also brought along the bouncer and being that we were on a slight incline he wanted to be sitting up like a big boy. Carter had fun playing on the playground and feeding the ducks what he didn't want for himself. Carter actually did pretty good on the picnic. At first when we sat down to eat he wanted to get up and play but after a little coaxing he finally sat down and ate his lunch. Other then all the people everywhere, we had a great time at the park.

Later that evening I thought we would try to color some eggs with Carter which turned out to be an absolute disaster. My mom bought a no spill kit for dying eggs which I don't recommend using because once you put your egg in the container and color it, in order to get it back out you had to flip it over and the egg would get stuck and then you would get die all over your hands trying to get it out and some of the solution would drip and Carter wanted to smash as many eggs into one container as he could which resulted in cracked eggs...needless to say it wasn't very kid friendly and messy. So after this disaster I poured the solution into red cups and put an egg into a wire whisk so that Carter could dip the egg in and out easily. It started out good and then Carter got crazy with the whisk and was splashing everywhere. I then colored the rest of the eggs quickly just so we could be done with it. Because of having coloring all over my hands and Jake's and trying to keep Carter contained we didn't get any pictures, but I am sure you can probably picture it in your mind.

On Sunday Carter went Easter egg hunting for the first time. We didn't hide the eggs we just put them out in the grass for him to pick up so that he could easily find the eggs. Jake put them out in the back yard to find and then later Grammy put them out in the front yard and Ian sat and watched.

I can't believe how big Ian has gotten! Holy chunky monkey! And Carter just keeps getting cuter and cuter. He has such a fun personality! I miss him.
